How to Measure
Four measurements, five minutes, a soft tape. Measured right, every chart on this site works perfectly. All measurements in centimetres.
Before You Start
Set Up for Accuracy
Measure in a non-padded bra or none at all, standing naturally in front of a mirror. Keep the tape level with the floor, snug against the body but never digging in. Breathe normally — a held breath changes your band size. A second pair of hands helps; measuring alone, use the mirror to check the tape sits level at the back.
No measuring tape? Wrap a phone-charger cable or string around the point, mark it with your finger, and lay it against a ruler.
The Four Measurements
Where the Tape Goes

Bust
Around the fullest part of the bust, tape level front and back. This sets your cup and your size in chemises, babydolls, and sets.

Underbust
Directly beneath the bust, where a band sits — snug and level around the ribcage. This is your band size.

Waist
The narrowest point of your natural waistline, usually a little above the navel. Decides briefs, corsetry, and high-waisted fits.

Hips
Feet together, tape around the fullest part of hips and seat — roughly 20 cm below the waist. The key measurement for briefs, bodysuits, and hosiery.
Bra Fitting
From Numbers to Bra Size
Two steps. Your underbust gives the band; the difference between bust and underbust gives the cup.
Step one — band
Step two — cup
Example: underbust 74, bust 91 — a difference of 17 — makes you a 34D.
The fit check. A band should sit level and firm on the loosest hook — you tighten hooks as the band relaxes with age. Cups should hold everything without gaping or spilling; the centre panel should rest flat against the breastbone.
